Not sure if it's Epic or Heroic related. If your still trying to make this work, make sure that steam runtime is disabled. I installed today GTA v by Heroic. It works on desktop mode, but in gaming mode I think the link is broken because nothing happens and steam come back to the library.

The major problem I had is the Steam Deck running out of RAM and completely crashing.
