My own Shiny Happy People story While my particular family wasn't strictly IBLP or specifically followed Bill Gothard's teachings, I was adopted into a family that lived a very strictly religious life with similar values to the IBLP cult. Also, listening to Jill speak on her experiences was heartbreaking. She needs to know that she's supported because while she doesn't go scorched earth and although Derrick kinda does (I feel the best stuff is going to be saved for the book), people are not gonna be happy she spoke up. And the person at Variety told me they had just received an invitation to a press junket for an upcoming Prime series.
