I had the same clunking but noticed it when I stepped on the brakes more than turning, it was the strut bearings. $70 a piece for the bearings. 2002 DTS problems. I bought a 2002 DTS 2 months ago and since then had many problems that required warranty work. Right now I have 4 problems with the car: 1. Rust in underbody. 2. Clunking sound when turning steering wheel at low speeds. 3. Radio randomly makes ear piercing noise when turning car on and then goes away.
